Carter County Schools announce new baseball coaching appointments

Carter County Schools have announced the appointment of two new head baseball coaches for the upcoming school year.
Garren Jackson has been named the Head Baseball Coach at Hampton High School. Jackson is a 2021 graduate of East Tennessee State University (ETSU), where he earned a B.S. in Kinesiology. He brings extensive experience to his new role, having served as the pitching coach at University High, where he contributed to two state appearances. Additionally, Jackson has coached two all-conference pitchers at Cherokee High School and has experience as the baseball coach at Surgoinsville Middle School. Most recently, he served as the assistant baseball coach at Hampton High School. In addition to his coaching duties, Jackson will be teaching physical education at Hampton Elementary School.
Mike “Acey” Ensor has been appointed as the Head Baseball Coach at Unaka High School. Ensor has a rich history with the Carter County School System, boasting a 28-year career as an administrator, teacher, and coach in various sports. He has just completed his second year as the Principal of Unaka High School and is excited to return to coaching baseball.
Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and a passion for the sport, promising to enhance the athletic programs at their respective schools.
