Richard Komaromy, 82, died suddenly May 5, 2024, in Knoxville, Tenn. He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major.

Born in Elizabethton, Tenn., he graduated from East Tennessee State University and served in South Korea, NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, the Pentagon, and the White House Transportation Office, among others. He previously lived in Northern Virginia for many years.

He is survived by a sister, Janice; a niece, Rebecca, in San Francisco; another niece, Catherine (husband Rob); a great-niece, Ella, of Knoxville; and several cousins.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Services will be held at a later date for the family.
