The Elizabethton High School track and field team traveled to Bristol to compete in the Frank Carver Invitational hosted by Tennessee High School. Although both boys and girls were missing some athletes and with others having to leave early, the teams both collected eighth-place finishes in strong showings as the boys competed with 23 other teams while the girls squared off with 24 other competing schools. Three first-place finishes were captured in the meet by the Cyclones. In field events, Liahna Nave and Landry Buckles continue to dominate the circle in the discus throw, with both athletes taking first place. Meanwhile, on the track, Jeremiah Norris blazed his way to a first-place medal in the 400-meter dash.
Other top-three finishers included Jamira Smalls in the shot put, who captured third, and the boys’ distance medley relay team composed of Max Garner, Cooper Jack, Brian Presley, and Jerry Behrmann, who legged out a third-place finish.
