David Lee Woods, 74, of Hampton, Tenn., passed away at his home on Thursday, April 11, 2024. David was born in Banner Elk, N.C., to the late Arlie Baxter Woods and Iva Lee Arnett Woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie Lou (Bare) Woods; two children, Renee Woods and David “Bo” Woods, Jr.; and a sister, Katie Woods.
David retired as a salesman at A1 Appliance in Elizabethton and was also an accomplished woodworker. He was a United States Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist faith. David loved HAM Radio and his call sign on the radio was ‘CQDX”. He also dearly loved his cat, “Peaches”, that he had for 18 wonderful years. In his spare time, David enjoyed landscaping and keeping his plants and flowers beautiful.
Survivors include his daughter, Melodie Maden and husband Adam of Elizabethton; and two grandchildren, Charles “Seth” Cannon and wife Gillian of Knoxville and Christopher Cannon and wife Molly of Andersonville, Tenn.
