MILLIGAN – It was a tale of two games for Milligan University softball as it split its Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) doubleheader with visiting Pikeville on Thursday.
The Buffaloes won the opener 2-0 but fell 10-0 in the finale.
Milligan is now 7-12 overall and 5-7 in conference play.

Bree Presnell took care of business in the circle, keeping the Pikeville bats quiet en route to the shutout victory.
The sophomore hurler surrendered only three hits and three walks in going to the distance. Prenell also collected five strikeouts.
Morgan Lawson gave Presnell all the support she needed with a solo home run in the fourth. Alexis Brown provided an insurance run, singling in Maggie Johnson in the sixth to make the final 2-0.
Game 2 – Pikeville 10, Milligan 0 (6 innings)
Milligan was limited to two hits while Pikeville pounded out 14.
The Bears scored 3 runs in the first, third, and sixth innings while pushing a single run across in the fifth.
Lawson and Sadie Shoun had the Buffs’ lone hits.
