The Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Main Street Elizabethton, announces a celebratory event marking the one-year anniversary of Made on Elk’s establishment in downtown Elizabethton at 526 E. Elk Ave. The event will take place on Thursday, March 28, at 11 a.m.
This community-minded studio is designed to support emerging artists and residents in our Tri-Cities region. Public classes, workshops, and events are offered by resident and local artists, providing hands-on experience with clay and other crafty arts.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be bringing this space to life. It’s an outlet to come be who you are, step away from the stress of normal routines, and get lost in the creative flow. Visit madeonelk.com to check out our upcoming classes and workshops, or to book a lesson. There are so many ways to get in the mix,” said Ashlee Springer, owner of Made on Elk.
“It’s always our favorite day when we can celebrate an anniversary or milestone with a business! Made on Elk has become a local favorite over this past year, and we love seeing how Ashlee has integrated into our community as a newcomer. Stop in and check out all the fun spring workshops, classes, and gifts for sale in her shop,” said Joy McCray, Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce executive director.
“We have loved seeing the growth and success of Made on Elk! In only her first year, Ashlee has provided an entrepreneurial space for makers to collaborate, create, and connect with the community. She has also provided opportunities with classes and workshops to teach people new skills and creative techniques. Made on Elk has become an important staple in our downtown community, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds!” said Courtney Bean, Main Street Elizabethton director.
In celebration of the studio taking flight, please join Made on Elk for an Open House on Thursday, March 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Looking to get your hands in the mud? Tickets are available for an Anniversary Wheel Throwing Party on Friday, March 29. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
For those who can’t make it to the festivities, the shop will also be open Saturdays from 12 to 4 p.m. for a Maker Market featuring over a dozen local makers. Register for classes at madeonelk.com and follow @madeonelk for all the latest info and class offerings.
