Michael Ray Tucker, 70, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away at his home on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Michael was born June 11, 1953 in Washington, DC to the late William “Luke” Jennings Tucker and Edith Irene (Berry) Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Trula Mae Lowe Berry and Daniel James Berry, and his paternal grandparents, John William Tucker and Fannie Emerline Osborne Tucker.
Michael had worked at Fingerhut, Bonanza and The T-Shirt Factory and was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. Michael had cared for his mother in the nursing home for many many years and loved spoiling his nieces and nephew. He enjoyed listening to music, was a NASCAR fan and was a film and television buff. He also loved listening to sports on the radio.
Those left to cherish and remember Michael include his brother, James Tucker and wife Margie; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Tucker Faul, Jonathan Tucker and Rachel Tucker; his great-niece, Jessica Faul; and his great-nephews, Daniel Faul and Jacob Faul. Several cousins and aunts also survive.
It was Michael’s wish to be cremated and no services are scheduled. Donations may be made in Michael’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 412 N. Cedar Bluff Road #402, Knoxville, TN 37923. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department and to the Medical Examiner, and also to the Bennett Family.
