Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Teddy Lee Miller, 60, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, departed this life at home, surrounded by his family on Friday, February 23, 2024.  Teddy was born in Johnson City, Tennessee.  He was the business owner of M & M Tire Shop in Johnson City and was known for his sense of humor and honesty in business.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Miller and Gloria Ray; two brothers, Eugene Rosenbaum and David “Tim” Rosenbaum; and a special friend that became family, Jackie Wiseman.

Survivors left to miss him include his wife of 30 years, Frances A. Miller; brothers, Jay Miller (Wanda), Bill Rosenbaum (Nancy); sister, Judy Green; sister, Jennnifer Earp (Scotty); special friend that became family, Howell Wiseman; and a very special niece, Angela Carr and several other nephews and nieces.

Teddy was a caring and selfless individual that was always helping others in any way he possibly could.  He always worked to provide anything his wife may have wanted, helping his family and friends, making sure that their vehicles were taken care of.  If someone needed a listening ear, he was there.  Even after getting increasingly ill and housebound, he still made sure that the needs of his family and many others were met.  If you ever met Teddy, you would not forget him and most likely he would not forget you.  When it came to saying “I love you”, Teddy wasn’t much on words, but his family always knew how much they were loved.

When not at work Teddy played the bass guitar in the gospel group, Sounds of Victory for many years and was also the driver.  He always enjoyed going out to eat after the group would get out of church services.  He also had an in home recording studio, Sounds of Victory Recording, where, with his love for southern gospel music, he was always willing to help anyone who had a desire to record music.

Special thanks go out to Cecil Wiseman, who was like a son and had helped a great deal with caring for Teddy and at the home, Judy Vines Crisp (extended family) for giving her expertise and advice in nursing care.

Special acknowledgment to Penny, Sarah, and Michelle of Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care they showed Teddy.

Funeral services will be held for Teddy at 1:30 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor and Minister Kim Casey officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Saturday.

The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park with active pallbearers being chosen from family and friends.  Honorary pallbearers will include Chris Flanary, Jimmy Harmon, Ben McCracken, Bobby Nichols, Jerry Norris, Danny Rexrode, Russell Rexrode, Tommy Stines, Larry Hunter and those who worked for Teddy through the years.
