GRAY – The Hampton Bulldogs saw a 33-29 halftime deficit balloon to 64-44 going into the fourth quarter as South Greene had a 16-1 run and Hampton (18-10) could not recover. The Bulldogs led 16-14 after one period was in the books but the Rebels firepower kept Hampton at bay.
The third period saw the Rebels run away and hide as they ran off a 16-1 scoring advantage that gave them a 20-point lead that was too much for the ‘Dogs to overcome. Senior post Hayden Campbell had a game-high 21 points, with Michael Anspaugh adding 15 points to the ‘Dogs scoring ledger.
Jace Roderick’s 18 points were high for South Greene (18-14), with Chandler Gamble adding 17 points.
