JOHNSON CITY — Cody Thomas, 32, of Johnson City, faces multiple charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault, interference with emergency calls, and violation of an order of protection following his arrest by officers with the Johnson City Police Department.
Authorities responded to a domestic disturbance call at Buffalo Ridge Apartments on Timberlake Road around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 27. An investigation revealed that Thomas had allegedly severely beaten a female victim on Jan. 25, keeping her captive in the apartment and preventing her from using the phone.
Upon Thomas’s departure from the apartment on Jan. 27, the female managed to call for help. She was subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Thomas was apprehended and taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
