Melinda Sue Holtsclaw, 58, Butler, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She fought a good fight until the end. She was born July 4, 1965 in Elizabethton.
Melinda was a graduate of Hampton High School. In earlier years she was an aid with the Carter County School System. She was a member of Fish Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two children, Megan Holtsclaw and Lucas (Emma) Holtsclaw; her parents, Bearl and Pat Campbell; two sisters, Leslie Campbell and Donna (Brian) Chambers; a special nephew, Daniel (Tara) Smith; two special nieces, Heather (Rob) Stewart and Kendra (Jordan) Dugger, and Drew Wiseman, whom she thought of as a grandson; other great-nieces and great-nephews; and her grand dogs, Lila and Ozzy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Stevie Guinn officiating. Interment will follow in the Nat Campbell Cemetery, Butler. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a very special thank you to the staff at the ICU Holston Valley Medical Center.
