Katie S. Williams, 97, Elizabethton, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, surrounded by her close family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Williams; daughter, Tonya Ann Smith; and sisters, Marie Hodge and Charlotte Hope Sheppard.
Katie is survived by her son, Phil McQueen and wife Joann of Johnson City; grandchildren, Heather Smith and special friend Jimmy Hayes, Harry Smith III and wife Heather, and Rena Smith Askew; a very special nephew, Jerry Potter and wife Linda; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Askew and Dylan Smith.
A graveside service for Katie will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.
