Joe Lynn Henson, 66, Chuckey, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Signature Health, Elizabethton. He was born January 6, 1957 in Johnson City to the late William and Mary McIntosh Henson.
Joe was disabled since birth but he loved to watch Andy Griffith and ME TV. He also loved to play basketball. In earlier years before he moved, he attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Davenport, and a sister, Mary Ruth Overman.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Arnold and her husband Larry, Piney Flats; a nephew and his wife, Tony and Tawnya Davenport, and their son, Austin; a nephew, Jeffrey Arnold; and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, January 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Randy Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Interment of the cremains will be with his parents at a later date at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
