Richard “Jarfly” Dugger was honored Thursday night at Unaka High School by a gathering of softball players he had mentored over the years. The heartfelt tribute took place during halftime of the Happy Valley versus Unaka basketball game.
Softball players, not only from Carter County but also from Daniel Boone, and a few players from North Carolina, joined together to recognize Dugger’s unwavering dedication to girls’ softball. In a touching gesture, they presented him with a commemorative plaque to express their gratitude for his guidance and support throughout their sporting journeys.
