Billie Jean Douglas Creasey, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Clara Hale Douglas.
Billie Jean was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State University School of Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. During her 47 years of working, she was employed at several hospitals and nursing facilities. While a student at ETSU she was Vice President of the National Student Nurse’s Association. She was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Glen Creasey; three children, Jeaneen Vines and husband Billy, Doug Creasey and wife Glinia, and Eric Creasey; four grandchildren, Kristen Creasey, Josh Creasey, Brittany Vines and Brandon Vines; one great-grandson, Easton; and her four-legged fur babies, Gracie and Jasmine.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Potter and Mr. Larry Carver officiating. Music will be provided by Loren Harris. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, will be Curt Gentry, Josh Creasey, Brandon Vines, Brice Kellion, Dave Johnson, T.J. Givens and Billy Vines. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the Hospice Staff of Johnson City Medical Center for all the love and care shown to her during her illness.
