Barbara Allen Hill Miller, 82, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023, following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Carson Hill and Verna McKeehan Hill Hopson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Miller Sr.; son, Johnny Miller; infant daughter, Barbara Miller; brother, Ray Hill; and sister, Roma Jean Harris.
Barbara enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, George Miller Jr. (Karen), Ray E. Miller (Nancy) and Becky Miller Morefield (Tommy Jr.), all of Elizabethton; sister, Lois Hutto of Elizabethton; special relative and life-time friend, June McKeehan of Johnson City; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 26, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Randy English officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
The graveside service and committal will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 27, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 9:15 a.m. Friday. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Carter County Rescue Squad for all their loving care and support during this difficult time. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Carter County Rescue Squad, 105 Iodent Way, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
