Barry Russell Timko ascended to the presence of our Lord October 5. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Russell Timko and Janet Ferrier Timko. Many greeted him in Heaven, including his parents, his first wife Katherine Beres Timko, and his grandsons, Jonathan and David Fuder. A man of few but prudent words, his life reflected his walk with God. Affectionately known as “Bear,” he was faithful, loyal, dedicated, giving, and Godly with a dry humor behind a subtle smile.
With a patriot’s heart, he served our country in the US Air Force. Among the awards he received while serving in Vietnam are five Air Medals with two Bronze Oak Leaves and two Distinguished Flying Crosses. He also served as a flight instructor at Moody Aviation for many years. His family that dearly miss him: wife, Deborah Heaton Timko; daughters Robyn Fuder and David; Blair Blycker and Jonathan; Ammi Hepler and Andy; son, Jeremiah Douglas and Layla. A sister, Bonnie Bole; brothers, Bruce Timko and Sally, Brian Timko and Leslie. Grandchildren, Anna and Audrey Fuder; Katherine, Robyn, Kenny, Benjamin and Nathaniel Blycker; Ryan and Emma Douglas.
A special thanks to all those who so graciously helped with Barry, especially the doctors, nurses, caregivers, family and friends.
A service will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Tunnel2Towers or Wounded Warriors would be greatly appreciated.
