Clayton J Hawk, 84, of Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at Hillview Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born to the late Jesse W. and Mary Nell Blevins Hawk. Clayton was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Caudle and a granddaughter, Chelsea Marie.

Clayton was a loving husband and family man; he was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist. Clayton had served in the Army and worked at Fluor Daniel Construction Company, where he retired. He loved to garden and enjoyed sports.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Evelyn Hartley Hawk; a son, Jonathan C. Hawk; a daughter, Jennifer Phelan and husband Charles Phelan; grandchildren, Georgia Caudle, Shelayne Phelan, and Clayton Phelan; two brothers, James Hawk and wife Darlene and David Hawk and wife Karna; several nieces and nephews that will also miss him greatly.

The family will have a service to honor the life of Clayton at 2 pm on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Tapp and Dr. Gale Hartley officiating. They will receive friends from 12 pm-2 pm prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hawk, Tim Hawk, Todd Hawk, Charles Phelan, Clayton Phelan, Ronald Arp, David Hawk, and Doug Hinshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be James Hawk and Ronald Shipley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to their Church family at Lynn Valley Baptist Church, the staff at Hillview, Amedisys Hospice, and his friends and neighbors for all their care, love and support.
