TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. • Tuesday, September 26
The Carter County Democratic Women invited the public to the Sept. 26 meeting when Cindy Huss, Director of the organization RISE, will speak. Ms. Huss will present an educational program on reproduction facts for men and women, following guidelines. The program is open to those 18 and older or those accompanied by an adult or guardian. The meeting will be held at the Black Olive with a social hour beginning around 5 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6 p.m. During the business session, plans for the Christmas party will be discussed as well as candidates for the 2024 elections.

State Certified Instructor Ken Potter will be teaching the class which will consist of unarmed, armed, and renewal.
