Charles Emory Hicks, 61, of Johnson City, took his walk with the angels to Heaven on September 9, 2023. He was born on February 19, 1962.
Charles was a graduate of Davy Crockett High School, working and retiring from the Johnson City Press.
Preceding him to Heaven are his parents, William Hart Hicks and Elizabeth Chandler Hicks; older brother, James Hicks; and twin sister, Charlene Matherly.
He leaves behind his wife, Anne Marie Hicks; brother, Leland Hicks and wife Robin; sister, Teena Berry; niece, Johna Baumgardner; nephews, Tristin Berry and Niel Hicks and wife Danielle; and two step-sons, Wayne and Brian Boles and their families.
A celebration of Charles’s eternal life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, at Cornerstone Church, 120 Cornerstone Drive, Johnson City, TN 37615. The family will receive friends prior to service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Afterward, the church will be hosting a short fellowship gathering with light refreshments. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to offset cost via the tribute fund tab on Charles’s tribute page at www.morrisbaker.com. For further information on memorial donations, a list of charities that Charles gave to regularly will be available at the celebration.
