Dennie T. Ensor, 83, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Dennie was a graduate of Unaka High School and a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid Red Sox Fan. He loved fishing and hunting and also loved Unaka Basketball. He coached Midway Boys Elementary Basketball for years. One of his happiest moments was the year Unaka won the State Championship.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Fortner Ensor; his sons, Donald James Ensor and wife Stephanie and John Daniel Ensor and wife Robin; five grandchildren, Brandi and Chris, Davy, Daniel, Madison and Nick and Macy; and one great-granddaughter, Allie Jeena.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carter County Animal Shelter, 2535 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
