David Michael Hicks, 75, Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. He was the son of the late Harry and Edith Whitson Hicks and was born on January 19, 1948. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita DeLoach Hicks, and a daughter, Brandy Ann Hicks.
David retired from Kennametal as a machinist. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Johnson City and was a United States Navy Veteran.
Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Angela Whitson; a grandson, Christopher Cunningham; a granddaughter, Zoe Attkisson; a great-grandson, Jasper Cunningham; and a great-granddaughter, Henleigh-Mae Simmons.
A graveside service to honor the life of David Michael Hicks will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Hobbie McCreary officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in David’s honor to Grace Baptist Church, 612 Collins Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604.
