Brenda J. Hall, 63, Elizabethton, was reunited with her husband, Rick, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center with her family at her side. She was a native of Saltville, Va., and a daughter of the late Leslie and Betty Sue Wilson Schetrom.
Brenda attended First Freewill Baptist Church of Elizabethton. She loved to spend time with her three munchkins and family. Brenda Volunteered over 20 years at Happy Valley Elementary School. She was always the life of the party; her smile lit up the room. She was known as “Ms Thang” and she loved to go to amusement parks and having dress up days. She was an avid photographer and loved to knit and crochet. Brenda loved her frozen 7 Brew coffee. Her favorite phrase was “Luv u Mur.” Brenda will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Glenn Hall, in 2012; a sister, Debbie Stines; and also her precious dog, Reese.
Survivors include her two sons, Zachary Hall and “Jenny” of Elizabethton and Joshua Hall and wife Erica of Elizabethton; three sisters, Cathy Compton and husband Wayne of Gray, Cindy LaFollette of Johnson City and Sherry Sheets and husband Bobby of Johnson City; a brother, Steve Schetrom and wife Joyce of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Bentley, Elijah and Levi Hall; a special niece, Kim Keefer; special friends, Kristie Carr and Stephanie Terrill; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Brenda will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 14, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Toby Miller, Caleb Sheets, Luke Naylor, Josh Stockfelt, Bobby Sheets and Ben LaFollette; Luke Miller will serve as an honorary pallbearer. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in her name be made to Happy Valley Help a Warrior Fund, 1980 Milligan Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601.
