This year’s “Miss & Mr. Covered Bridge Days 2023” pageant for Elizabethton Covered Bridge Days is planned for Saturday, Sept. 23.
The pageant will be held at the Elk Avenue Bridge entertainment area overlooking the beautiful covered bridge. In case of inclement weather, the pageant will be held at the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation stage at 300 Mill St.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. with an entry fee of $15. The pageant begins at 11 a.m.
There will be six queens and six kings crowned – one in each age division. Winners receive a mini rhinestone tiara.
Age groups are as follows:
Birth-2
Ages 3-5
Ages 6-10
Ages 11-15
Ages 16-20
Ages 21 and over
The theme this year is “fall fun,” which means any outfit, be it dress, gown, costume, casual or formal, should reflect fall colors or the theme. Contestants are encouraged to be creative.
The pageant is “great family fun to cheer on a favorite contestant,” said organizer Amy Simmons, director of the pageant and reigning “World’s Miss Tourism 2024.” The event is sponsored by the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department.
Judges, pageant staff and assistants are made up of local and national title holders and community business owners.
