Barbara Johnson, 80, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., passed away at her home on Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born in Carter County to the late Tillman and Leola Helen Whittington Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby James Johnson; son, Danny Johnson; sister, JoAnn Thompson; two brothers, Robert and David Campbell; a granddaughter, and a niece.

Barbara’s occupation was in housekeeping at Grandfather Mountain. She was also a factory worker at Owen Briggins and TRW in Newland, N.C. Barbara was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting as well. However, she mostly enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Johnson of the home; daughter, Billie Oliver Glass (Tony); four brothers, Floyd Dick Campbell (Joann), Jack Campbell (Linda), Tillman Campbell (Ronnie), and Spencer Campbell (Kathy); six sisters, Patsy Hopson, Margaret Jones (Mike), Judy Johnson, Elizabeth Waddell (Bobby), Louella Campbell, and Lucille Hamby; her special caregiver and friend, Ashley Ollis; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 2, in the Isaacs Cemetery at Buck Mountain.
