GREENEVILLE – The Four Tops will perform at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 3 p.m
Tickets range from $40 to $60.
The concert will include a lineup of No. 1 hits as well as some toe-tapping and dancing in your seats.
Their first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964, quickly turned The Four Tops into stars. Their songs, soulful and bittersweet, were across-the-board successes. The No. 1 R&B and pop smash, “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” is one of Motown’s longest-running chart toppers. It was quickly followed by “It’s The Same Old Song,” “Reach Out I’ll Be There” and “Standing in the Shadows of Love.”
The Four Tops is one of the few groups to have hits in three consecutive decades. The ’70s produced a string of hits with “Ain’t No Woman (Like the One I’ve Got),” “Keeper Of The Castle,” “Are You Man Enough,” and “Midnight Flower.”
