On July 29, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Horace Bruce, Johnson City, and charged him with possession of stolen property, reckless endangerment, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
At approximately 1:20 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of King Springs Road, in reference to a shots fired call. Bruce was located nearby and matched the description given of the suspect by witnesses. An investigation revealed that while Bruce was in possession of a stolen handgun, the firearm discharged in close proximity of a nearby resident. The investigation also revealed that Bruce was not of the legal age to possess a handgun.
Bruce was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $12,000 bond. His arraignment was on July 31 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On July 29, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Brittney A. Lacy, Johnson City, and charged her with driving under the influence (sixth offense) and simple possession.
At approximately 1:46 a.m., officers received a call about a vehicle crash at 257 E. Main St., Johnson City, Brewing Tap Room. EMS reported that a Jeep Cherokee passed them traveling backwards in the wrong lane on S. Roan St. The 2017 Jeep Cherokee then crashed into the side of the Johnson City Brewing Company. Subsequently, it was determined that the driver, Brittney Lacy, was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Lacy was placed under arrest and transported to Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held pending a bond hearing. Arraignment was on July 31 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On Aug. 1, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Brian Campbell, Johnson City, charging him with aggravated robbery. This arrest is the result of an investigation of a robbery that occurred at McDonald’s (1710 W. Market St.) where the cashier of the business was robbed at knifepoint. Campbell was apprehended a few blocks away as he was fleeing the scene on foot.
Campbell was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. An arraignment has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
