JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Terry L. Scalf Jr., 52, Johnson City, with two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and simple possession after an incident that occurred shortly after midnight.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at an address on Dulaney Road in Jonesborough on July 12. It was reported that a man had forced his way into the residence and was threatening two people inside.
Scalf appears to have forced his way through the front door and threatened the occupants inside with a knife. Deputies located Scalf in a bathroom at the residence with one of the occupants.
Upon apprehending and searching Scalf, deputies found a small amount (1.5 grams) of marijuana, which led to the simple possession charge.
He is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $71,000 bond. Scalf is scheduled to make his initial court appearance at 1:30 p.m., July 12.
