Schedule of activities at the Elizabethton Senior Center, 428 East G Street, for the week of July 3-7:
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 noon.
The billiard room and fitness room are open and no appointments necessary.
Monday: Balance, Toning & Strengthening – Gerihab Mobile – K.C., Free, 8:30 a.m.; Lunch – Chili Dog with Onions, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga – Yoga Farm, with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3, 12:15-1:15 p.m.; Gentle Flow – Yoga Farm with Instructor, Cindy Brugnolett, $3, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Happy July 4th. Center is closed. No meals served.
Wednesday: Just Keep Movin’ – Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, Free, 9-10 a.m.; Eat Well, Feel Well – UT Extension, 6-week wellness course, 10 a.m.; Lunch – Chicken Alfredo, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga, 12:15-1:15 p.m., with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3; Gentle-flow Yoga, 1:30-2:30 p.m., with Instructor, Cindy Brugnolett, $3.
Thursday: Lunch – Tuna Salad, 11 a.m.
Friday: “Dogs for a Cause” Fundraiser, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Live music featuring Michael Hawkins. Hot dogs with fixins’, chips, refreshments and homemade desserts of your choice. $10 ticket. Tickets available. If you would like to sponsor a senior please let us know. To-go trays available if you are on the go! Grandparents Raising Grandchildren – Are you raising a grandchild or even a great-grandchild? Grandparents Raising Grandchildren meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Elizabethton Senior Center. Next meeting is July 25 at 10 a.m. You can find support and resource connection!
The Elizabethton Senior Center is partnering with Caris Healthcare to begin holding a monthly Veterans Support Group. All veterans are welcome! Meetings will be held on the second Thursday of the month! The upcoming meeting will be July 13 from 1-2 p.m. – Coffee and Snack!
REMINDER: Street signs with reflective numbers are still available at the Center for a cost of $5. These are provided at this discount price through our SALT Council. Make sure you can be located in case of an emergency.
