Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will host its annual Freedom Celebration Saturday, July 2, beginning at 6 p.m.
Hotdogs, chips, cookies, and water will be served until 8 p.m. Live music will be presented by church members, and a fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Moore’s Chapel
The Knight Family will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at Moore’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
The Rev. Richard Blevins, pastor, invites the public to attend.

Elk River Baptist
Elk River Baptist Church, Highway 321, Butler, will have Vacation Bible School July 10-15. Classes will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. daily. There will be classes for all ages.

Unaka Baptist
Family Fun in the Son will be held July 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Unaka Baptist Church.
Performances will include Zion Baptist Youth at 4 p.m.; The Edwards Family at 5 p.m.; Sacred Harmony at 6 p.m.; Southern Harmony at 7 p.m.; and Ricky Hilton at 8 p.m.
Food will be served, and there will be inflatables and more for kids.
Those attending are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets.
Unaka Baptist Church is located at 1598 Highway 91.

Borderview Christian
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will celebrate the 34th annual God and Country Day on Sunday, July 2.
This celebration had its start during the Gulf War in 1990 as a community boost for patriotism. This year’s morning worship at 10:45 a.m. will feature the adult choir ministry musical, “Under God,” and a special veteran recognition. The day’s events will continue at 5 p.m. with a community block party with inflatables for the kids, followed with a free box supper at 6 p.m., featuring BBQ or fried chicken as the entree.
A gospel concert by the local group, LIFTED, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled at dusk. All guests can register for door prizes awarded throughout the evening. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event.

Valley Forge Free Will
Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church will have its Sunday evening worship service July 2 at 6 p.m. at the church picnic area by the Doe River. The Camp Choir will sing and Pastor Randy Johnson will preach.
The service will be followed by a cookout and a Freedom fireworks celebration.

First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will have both an in-person and online service Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship hour.
Gary Mongile will be guest speaker. He will speak on “Simple Peace” based on Hebrews 8:10 and Philippians 4: 8-9.
The church is located at 119 West F St. and the Rev. Brian Wyatt is pastor.

Long Hollow Baptist
Saturday night singing will be held July 1 at 6 p.m. at Long Hollow Baptist Church
Featured will be Everette and Cleta Garland, Emily Ward and her mother, Shelia, and Harry B Crowe.

Big Springs Church of Christ
Vacation Bible School will be held at the Big Springs Church of Christ July 10-14. Classes will be held at 6:30 p.m. each day for students in K-5th grades.
