Power, Meronk begin play Thursday at Los Angeles Country Club
LOS ANGELES – ETSU men’s golf alums Seamus Power and Adrian Meronk are set to tee off at the 123rd U.S. Open, which begins Thursday from the North Course of the Los Angeles Country Club.
Power, who finished tied for 12th at last year’s U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., has won twice on the PGA Tour – the first coming at the 2021 Barbasol Championship and then again at the 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Meronk is making his second U.S. Open appearance as he made his debut in 2021 at Torrey Pines. Meronk, who has played in all four Majors, finished tied for 40th at last month’s PGA Championship.
Power tees off in Thursday’s opening round at 11:35 a.m. ET and then goes out at 5:05 p.m. on Friday. The two-time PGA Tour winner is grouped with Ryan Fox and Matthew McClean (amateur).
Meronk begins his U.S. Open at 3:59 p.m. on Thursday and goes out Friday at 10:29 a.m. from No. 10. The three-time DP World Tour champion is grouped with Harris English and Joaquin Niemann. Two of the three wins have come this season – most recently at the DS Automobiles Italian Open back in May. Meronk won his first tournament at the 2022 Horizon Irish Open and followed that up with a win at the Australian Open back in December.
