A Placemakers Breezeway Dedication was held on Friday in the 400 block breezeway (next to Sweetsie Treatz). The purpose of the dedication was to celebrate the completion of the Breezeway Enhancement Project funded by the TNECD Placemakers Entrepreneurship Fund granted to the City of Elizabethton, in partnership with Main Street Elizabethton. Utilizing grant funds, three additional tables were added to each breezeway with vibrant umbrellas for shade at each table, three artist-rendered bike racks throughout downtown, and eight planters for greenery in the 400 block breezeway. In addition to these placemaking enhancements, the grant supported marketing and technical assistance training for downtown restaurants, as well as professional photography to support their marketing efforts.
