Bugtussle Bash Saturday evening
The Third Annual Bugtussle Bash will be held June 3, beginning at 4 p.m. at 1378 Gap Creek Road.
The outdoor festival will feature Weight Shift, Wiseblood, Slick Cadillac, Kris Rowdy and the Hillbillys and others.
Blue Plum Festival
The Blue Plum Festival will continue Saturday in Johnson City at the King Commons Park, 112 N. Commerce Park.
This festival, free, is designed to kick off the start of summer. The festival will end at 11 p.m. Saturday, and will feature music, food, vendors, and other events.
English Country Dancing
Fellowship English Country Dancing will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Sycamore Shoals State Park.
Beginners and seasoned dancers alike are welcome. The afternoon will include the opportunity to learn dances from different worldwide cultures.
The event is sponsored by the Sabine Hill Society.
Fiber Arts Group
Beginning in June, the Carter County Fiber Arts Group will meet every first and third Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library.
If you like to knit, cochet, needlepoint, felt, work with a loom, cross-stitch, or other fiber themed project, you are invited to attend.
Also, the library will host a crafts night every second Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Please register by calling 543-6360 or stop in and sign up. Both Sunny Tanner and Cherri Pennington will be present and introduce those attending to creating “Artist Trading Cards.”
Art Show At Park
The Watauga Valley Art League will have its summer show beginning June 11 at Sycamore Shoals State Park. The public is invited to enjoy artwork, fellowship, and snacks at a meet-the-artists reception Sunday, June 11, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
The show will continue through June 25.
Liberty! Drama June 9 & 10
Liberty! The Saga of Sycamore Shoals can be seen June 9 and 10 at the Sycamore Shoals State Park. This is the 44th season of the drama at 8 p.m. in the Fort Watauga Amphitheater.
Tennessee’s official outdoor drama is presented by a cast of local performers against the backdrop of Fort Watauga. Liberty! portrays the significant history of Sycamore Shoals during the late 18th century.
