Lori Love, a candidate to replace Scotty Campbell for the Tennessee Third District seat, was guest at the May meeting of the Carter County Democratic Women.
Love vowed to work on gun laws to make our communities safe from those who would take the lives of the innocent.
She recognized the Hall Income Tax give-away to the rich by the Tennessee Legislature which in turn will cause a property tax increase for most Tennesseans and those least able to pay.
She also discussed with the group the so-called monopoly of Ballad Health, resulting in closure of rural hospital.
Love also said the fact that the state of Tennessee turned down Medicaid funds lowered the health standards of healthcare for the uninsured or inadequately uninsured in the state.
Janet Hyder is president of Carter County Democratic Women.
