The third annual Music & Miles Half Marathon took place on Saturday downtown and throughout the city as 217 entries sought the title which serves as one-third of The Goose Chase half marathons in the Tri-Cities area.
When the dust settled, Stephanie Place Buchanan from Bristol captured the title in a time of 1:18:58. Derek Gibson from Moshiem managed to leg out a second-place finish as he crossed the finish line in a time of 1:21:50. Rounding out the top three finishers were Jeff King of Erwin who logged a time of 1:24:29.

Other notable finishes in the Female 70-99 category, Marie Tedesco, 74, of Jonesborough, finished at 173rd overall with a time of 2:41:25, while in the Male 70-99 category, Tom Deaderick, 78, of Morristown, finished at 121st overall in a time of 2:16:46.
