Kerri Elizabeth “Reese” Whitehead went to be the Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, after a tragic accident with the love of her life, Timothy Mayse. Kerri enjoyed spending time with Niko, Tim and especially her granny Mary. She enjoyed being outdoors with her Paw Jeff and uncles, Rex and Eric. She loved her dogs and always enjoyed spending time at the coon hunts.
Kerri was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Shirley and W.H. Hughes (Papa) as well as her best friend, Brandi Thompson. Survivors include her parents, Jessie Whitehead and Isaac Johnson; special granny, Mary; two sisters, Megan Johnson and Kameron Johnson; maternal grandparents, Jeff Whitehead and Mary Whitehead; paternal grandparents, Maynard Johnson and Louise Johnson, all of Roan Mountain; Uncle, Eric Vance; aunt, Monica Phillips (Jason); cousins, Sam Phillips, Summer Jackson-Whisenhunt; special cousin, Dustin Potter and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain.
The graveside service and committal for Kerri will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in the Stewart-Whitehead Cemetery with Mr. Rick Birchfield officiating. Pallbearers will be Timmy Lambert, Robbie Tolley, Dayton Whitehead, James Oliver, Eric Vance and Adam Dugger. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 a.m. on Thursday.
