The Elizabethton Elks Lodge, in partnership with Roan Mountain State Park, held the 40th Annual Youth Trout Tournament on Saturday, May 13, at Roan Mountain State Park. The event was a huge success, with a turnout of approximately 250 children. The event is the longest-running and most participated in children’s event that the Elks Lodge holds across Tennessee.
It’s a non-profit Drug Awareness Community event where children can fish for the day with their families and learn to enjoy outdoor activities. The Elizabethton Elks Lodge and RMSP provide prizes for 1st through 3rd place in three age groups; 4-7, 8-11, and 12-14.
The Elks Lodge also provides prizes, such as fishing poles, tents, camping chairs, and sleeping bags, to all children that attend the event to ensure they have an enjoyable day and are encouraged to continue spending time outdoors with their families enjoying our community.
The 41st Annual Trout Tournament is tentatively planned for May 11, 2024.
