CCSO: Body found outside a home along Watauga River

According to a release from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, investigators and deputies were on the scene of an unattended death in Carter County.
Deputies responded to a residence along the Watauga River in the Stoney Creek area shortly before 2 p.m. after a 911 caller reported finding a deceased person outside the home.
Deputies located the deceased person and called for investigators and the County Coroner to also respond to the scene. Additionally, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and a medical examiner with the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center at East Tennessee State University are at the scene assisting in the investigation.
The investigation is underway at this time. Additional details will be released as they become available.
