To the Editor:
If you’re not a member of the CCDW Club, you missed out on one of Elizabethton’s city councilmen giving a great summary of the city’s plans and what it will take to reach those goals. On March 28, Jeff Treadway spoke to the group and also helped us understand the city’s needs for the future, and its plans to develop our natural resources, capitalizing on tourism.
The Black Olive hosted the meeting, with the conference room almost full. The CC Democratic Women revealed a quick study on fascism is being planned for their April meeting and encouraged members to run for office.
It is important that we work together to study our government and see to it that our money is spent wisely. Education is very important, and our public school system is the best method of educating our children. We recognize our teachers who surely must have hearts of gold, nerves of steel, and the patience of Job. We thank you for your dedication to our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all those whose lives you touch.
