Pastor Terry Lee Lyons, 72, Roan Mountain, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born February 17, 1951 in Banner Elk, N.C., to the late Edward and Pearl Adkins Lyons.
In earlier years, Terry was employed with the Decanter Machine Shop in Johnson City. He was a Minister for 35 years, having pastored Lick Creek Christian Church, Big Springs Church of Christ and Bethel Church of Christ. He was a member of Upper Shell Creek Christian Church. He loved fishing, cooking and woodworking and most of all his ministry. He was a loving husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Clyde Oaks and Clarice Hodges.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judy Shell Lyons; his daughters, Julie (Brian) Farmer and Marcia (Tim) Davis; his grandchildren, Jaime (Adam) Kilby, BJ (Melody) Farmer, Dakota Farmer, TJ Davis and Victoria Davis; his great-grandchildren, Nolan Kilby, Amelia Kilby, Riku Farmer, Atlas Farmer and Bentli Tilley; his siblings, Johnny Lyons and Anna Mae Jones; several nieces and nephews; and a best friend and fishing buddy, Bob South.
A service to celebrate the life of Pastor Terry Lee Lyons will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, March 27, at the Upper Shell Creek Christian Church with Mr. Bud Gentry, minister, officiating. Interment was in the Adolphus Cordell Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Lee, Dr. Coylar, Dr. Reddy, Dr. Khan and the nursing staff of the 2700 Wing ICU at Johnson City Medical Center.
