George Donald Ross, 94, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. He was born in Freemont, Ohio, to the late George William Ross and Pheonia Campbell Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Reba Ornduff Ross.
George was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean and Vietnam War retiring after 21 years of service. He also retired from James H. Quillen VA Medical Center after 20 years of service. He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Ronn Ross and wife Donna of Valdosta, Ga., and Dena Jupin of Augusta, Ga.; grandson, Christopher Jupin and wife Anita of Atlanta, Ga.; and two great-grandsons, Carson Jupin and Evan Jupin.
A graveside service and committal will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Travis Tyler officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at the residence.
