Olen Justus “Jr”, 71 years of age, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2023. Born October 9, 1951, in Grundy, Va., he was the son of the late Olen Sr. and Oma Justus.
Jr was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving and devoted father who worked hard all his life. He worked many jobs, coal miner, business owner, truck driver, farmer, carpenter, and so many more. He did whatever it took to support his family. Jr was a true jack of all trades, who had mastered them all. Everything he sat out to do, he accomplished, no matter the cost. He will always be true Daddy.
In addition to his parents, Olen Sr. and Oma Justus, he was preceded in death by brothers, Acie, Willie and Lacy Justus, and sister, Kathleen.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Justus; daughter, Diane Clevinger and husband Denny of Bastian, Va.; sons, Ace Justus and wife Kay of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Wesley “George” Justus and wife Wendy of Johnson City, Tenn.; sisters, Polly Blakley and husband Bobby of Rising Sun, Md., and Pearl Day of Stateline Ridge, Va.; and brothers, Jimmy Justus and wife Terry of Bradshaw, W.Va., Mack Justus of Stateline Ridge, Va., and Paris Justus and wife Virginia of Liberty, N.C.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Dee, Natasha, Zack, Kyla, Julion and Jacie; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his pet companion, Maggie.
Funeral services for Olen Justus Jr will be held at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Grundy, Va., on Monday, March 27, at noon with Pastor Johnny Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Noah Stuart Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Denny and Diane Clevinger, Denny Clevinger Jr., Wesley and Wendy Justus, Ace Justus and Kay Justus, and David Day.
