Dana Kay Winningham, 66, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Charles Roy Trojcak and Katherine Rose Brush.
Dana was a 24-hour caregiver to Paul Pastizzo in California before retiring. She attended Crossroads Christian Church and First United Methodist Church. She was a very caring and loving woman who loved her children, grandchildren, husband and the Lord more than anything. Dana loved to paint, sew, work on arts and crafts involving statues and nature and she loved her flowers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Trojcak.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas Claude Winningham, of the home; three daughters, Katie Carney, Michelle Acaro and Alicia Carmona; grandchildren, Hailey Smith, Charlie Salas, Seth Ludi, Audrey Rubio, Kennedy Carmona, Destiny Robinson, John and Dana Miller; a brother, Steve Trojcak; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Dana will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 2, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Countiss officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The graveside service and committal will be held in the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery, Fallbrook, Calif. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations towards Dana’s account at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.
