Hunter, Bulldogs and Cloudland take home Carter County Youth Basketball League Championships

Tournament play continued Saturday, with CCYBL championship games at Unaka High School. In a matchup of two undefeated teams, Bulldogs JC 1 topped Cloudland JC 1 to win the Junior Cadet Championship and finish the season undefeated.
In the Cadet championship, Fifth-seeded Hunter Cadet 1 would pull off another upset by defeating undefeated Cloudland Cadet 2 to win Hunter Youth Club’s first championship. Hunter would top both undefeated Cloudland teams.
The Peewee division championship would see Cloudland PW 1 do what they have done all year by winning big over Bulldogs PW 2 and finish the season undefeated. Star Photographer Tyler Scalf was present at Unaka High School to share some of the tournament action with Star readers.
The consolation games for third place:
• Hunter JC 1 topped Keenburg JC 1 for third place in the Junior Cadet division.
• Bulldogs Cadet 1 topped Cloudland Cadet 1 for third place in the Cadet division.
• Bulldogs PW 1 topped Keenburg PW 1 for third place in the Peewee division.
