JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies charged Johnny Slagle, 74, of Telford, with two counts of aggravated assault.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to a 911 call on Feb. 10 in the 600 block of Bowmantown Road. Slagle had threatened two occupants of the home with a ball peen hammer and poured gasoline down one hallway. He was smoking a cigarette inside the home when deputies arrived.

Deputies took Slagle into custody and transported him to the Washington County Detention Center. His bond is set at $10,000. He will appear in Sessions Court at 9 a.m. Feb. 16.
