The following arrests have been reported by the Johnson City Police Department:
On Jan. 17, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Remington C. Tritt, Johnson City, on charges related to a negligent firearm discharge.
At 12:04 a.m., officers responded to 24 Regency Square in reference to a shots fired called. Upon arrival, officers made contact with suspect Tritt at his apartment. Tritt admitted that he negligently discharged his handgun inside his apartment. Further investigation revealed that the bullet’s trajectory came within close proximity to a nine-month-old child who was sleeping in a crib. The child’s crib was located in a neighboring apartment’s bedroom adjoining Tritt’s apartment.
Tritt was placed under arrest for reckless endangerment and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Arraignment was on Jan. 17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On Jan. 24, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Amy M. Dugger, 52, Elizabethton, and charged her with theft over $2,500.
Officers were contacted by management at the Roadrunner Market located at 149 S. Broadway St., who alleged that Dugger had embezzled over $2,500. Through the investigation, officers discovered that Dugger had stolen $2,500 from her employer by keeping store bank runs and taking money from the store ATM.
Dugger was placed in custody at the Washington County Detention Center and is being held in lieu of a $2,000 bond. Arraignment was on Jan. 25 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On Feb. 9, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Gary J. Clifford, 71, Johnson City, and charged him with aggravated assault.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to 123 W. Millard St., in regards to a trespasser. The caller informed officers of a dispute between two parties at the listed location and wished for one of them to be trespassed. Once on scene, officers discovered that the dispute had escalated and that one of the individuals involved, Clifford, had threatened the other with a knife.
Clifford was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. Arraignment was on Feb. 10 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
