Larry James Morton, 77, of Unicoi, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born on May 13, 1945 in Unicoi County, Tenn.
Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was retired from the X-ray Department of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He attended Keystone Free Will Baptist Church, Johnson City.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Emma Jean Morton, and his twin sons, Billy Jack and Bobby Jack Morton and Larry Junior Morton.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred Carver Morton; two grandchildren, Bodee and Miley Morton; and several cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, February 4, in the Carver-Cochran Cemetery (Hampton) with Pastor Tony Birchfield officiating. The Smith Family will be in charge of music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, will be Bodee Morton, Jack, Ned and Josh Smith, Ed Morton, Curtis Morton, Landon Lingerfelt, Julius Tolley and Eddie Meyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Dexter Brummitt and Albert Ellison. A special thank you to Missy Honeycutt, his caregiver. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
