Evelyn JoAnn Deloach Odom, 73, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 28, 2023, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Howard Deloach Sr. and Clara Marie Holden Deloach.
Evelyn was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Valley Forge House of Prayer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Deloach and William Deloach Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Roger Odom Sr.; two daughters, Remetha Dawn Loving and Rebecca Dianne (Melvin) Simmons, all of Elizabethton; a son, Roger D. (Kathy) Odom Jr., Hampton; one sister, Teresa (R.L.) Hambrick, Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allen Simerly and Pastor Tim Hughes officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, in the Patton-Simmons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wendell Loving II, Logan Loving, James Cates, Ronald Odom, Jonathan Odom, Kristopher Simmons, Michael Simmons and Jerry Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, Richard Yeager and Greg Miller. A special thanks to Dr. Nick@Karing Hearts Cardiology, Dr. Jeff Gaca, Duke Medical Center and Melissa Baumgardner RN, Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Forge House of Prayer, 118 House of Prayer Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
