Roan Mountain man dies in wreck; wife, infant in stable condition

A Roan Mountain man died and his wife was injured after their vehicle ran off the road and overturned with their child strapped inside a car seat.
The accident took place on U.S. 19E near Gap Creek Road at about 7:30 p.m.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Mitchell Oliver, 31, was driving a 2000 green Ford Ranger headed south on U.S. 19E when the vehicle ran off the roadway. Oliver over-corrected, and the vehicle overturned, ejecting him and Marche Oliver, 33, who was a passenger in the vehicle. A 1-year-old infant remained inside the vehicle, strapped into a car seat.
All three were transported to the Johnson City Medical Center, where Oliver was pronounced dead. Marche Oliver and the child were reported to be in stable condition.
