Lady Cyclones romp past East

It took only 16 minutes of play between the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones and the Sullivan East Lady Patriots to quickly determine who was going to take the Upper Lakes Conference contest played inside John Treadway Gym.
Rolling out to a 47-19 lead by the break, the Lady Cyclones continued to press their way toward post season action easily taking the contest by a 76-40 victory to run their season mark to 19-4.
Senior Renna Lane was hotter than a six-shooter pistol in the first half as she connected on 5-of-5 from beyond the arc to record 15 points. Lane wasn’t the only one putting up numbers as post, Marlee Mathena played string music to the tune of 10 points and Lina Lyon was doing damage in the paint with eight points.
Reiley Whitson contributed with seven first-half points while Katie Lee added six.
Jenna Hare tried her best to keep the Lady Patriots in the game knocking down 14 of the 19 points in the opening half.
The Lady Patriots outscored the Cyclones 16-15 coming out of the locker room but it was too little too late to catch Coach Lucas Andrews squad.
Four Lady Cyclones reached double figures as Lane finished with 15 points, while Mathena and Lyon finished with 14 points apiece. Whitson added 13.
Olivia Holly (8), Lee (6), Michelle Shields (4), Jamira Smalls (1), and Kayelyn Nave (1) closed out the Lady Cyclone scoring.
Hare was the only Lady Patriot in double figures scoring a game-high 22 points. Asia Cairns closed out the game with five points.
